Our first excursion of 2025 saw us nearing the Scottish Borders, close to Brewick upon Tweed with seven of our young people. More specifically, we stayed at Ford Castle and the weekend was ran by PGL. We were joined by around 50 other young people from Scout Groups around the county along with their leaders
We were treated to two days of fun filled activities from Aeroball to Abseiling, Archery to Air Rifle Shooting as well as some centre specific activities including Jacobs Ladder (which involved climbing as a team from log to log which became increasingly spread apart) and the trapiez which saw our young people jumping off a platform to tag a ball around ten metres up in the air.
Other activities included orienteering and ziplining plus on the Saturday night there was the traditional campfire where action filled songs helped keep us all warm an culminated in the roasting of marshmallows before a bit of free-time then bed.
What made the weekend extra special was our being able to carry out two investitures whereby two of our Cubs became Scouts - in front of the whole contingent of young people and leaders.
